Extraction method

1. Raw material preparation
Chili peppers should be red, spicy, low in moisture, and free of moldy odor and directly processed and ground into powder. When the moisture content of chili peppers is too high, low-temperature drying should be adopted. Pay attention to the content of ethanol, and deodorize or redistillate the alcohol if necessary.
2. Extraction
According to the test results, the static extraction method at room temperature has the advantages of simple equipment, convenient operation, and energy saving, which is conducive to promotion and application. Generally, the liquid-to-solid ratio (ratio of volume liters to weight kilograms) used for extraction is 4~5:1. 95% edible alcohol is selected as the extractant, and the extraction is static at room temperature for 48 hours.
3. Concentration
The extract from Chili Pepper Extract is sent to the distillation device, and the ethanol is recovered by indirect heating. As ethanol evaporates, the concentration of the extract increases and the color becomes darker. In the later stage of distillation, it is necessary to control the heating temperature to prevent coking. After the concentrate is cooled to room temperature, it is a thick dark red liquid. The recovered ethanol can be used for leaching.
4. Purification
In order to remove impurities and colloid resin substances in the concentrate, it is necessary to further extract with solvents under the conditions described above. Then evaporate the purification solvent to obtain a pure extract - chili extract.
